Sorry it took so long to get back (damn cold). I did some measuring and here is what I came up with. some lengths are as follows:
Bj 70.front drive shaft length 26.25"
Rear drive shaft 27.5"
Bell housing length 9"
tranny length 11"
Front of bell housing to Cross member center 12"
Transfer case 15"
Bj 42.
Front drive shaft 29.75"
rear shaft 22.5"
Bell housing 9"
Front of Bellhousing to crossmember center 12"
tranny 11"
transfer case 15"
so it would seem to me that only the transfer case output shafts are different lengths.Sound like a reasonable deduction??also I have 1 bellhousing that is aluminum and on that is cast iron should I use the cast iron one for strength or does it matter? Thanks again for all of the input.
