So, I start on the 13th at HealthSouth, the corporate headquarters. I'm on a 1 month contract, but it may turn into a permanent position paying better.
The first month I will not be making CRAP, but I need a place to stay. I'm afraid to get into a 1year lease this month, just because.
Anybody got a house they need babysat for a month?!
What about a CHEAP extended stay place?
What about an apartment that rents by the month?

Ultimately, I like the apartments closest to HS cause they seem safe and cheap and are RIGHT THERE. But I'd hafta sign a one year lease.... Prolly will if this turns to fulltime, at least for the first year.... then find a place for me and my buggy.

But, what about this month?!

Wow! that's cool!
but I got a dog I got to worry with.

Autumn wood off lorna in hoover did month to month when I was there. They just had a fire though and I don't know how many buildings were damaged.

Springs at Greystone had month to month. I did it when we bought our house b/c I knew we weren't going to be there a whole year. Also garages. Win win. Not sure how pricy they are now though.

Keith, where did you post that first post about this?! I remember you telling me, but have no idea where! LOL.
Seems like it was too expensive though....

Here's a link to the property.
Springs Apartments - Greystone

Also, they're mutt friendly. My req's when I was looking were garage, large dog friendly (my male is 65lbs), and between 459 / 119 somewhere near 280. That was one of like 3 that fit the bill if I remember correctly.

I think I had to say he was 60 lbs for the Springs. Seems like they had a 60 lb weight limit, but they never said anything or actually checked.

Whew! What a day! drove up to bham and spent all day apartment shopping. Ended up in a familiar complex that my cousin lived in back in the 90's! It's technically in Vestavia, but it's called Grand Highlands and it's 2 miles off the turn into The Summit. 3.5 miles to my work.
Back in Auburn tonight only to now grab MORE stuff to actually make it through a week.
Honestly, I'm a little overwhelmed by it all right now. It's an odd feeling for me. But can't wait to see ya'll Wednesday!

Woo pow!

Pretty sure it's Mt Brook. Actually lived there w 4 kids in a 3 bedroom apt for 6 weeks while our house got finished. Good luck!

Very cool. I rented a house over on Glass Drive right down Overton from there. I loved living in Cahaba Heights. Uber convenient to lots of stuff. The wine / beer store right across from the Publix has a great selection.

You found a good place in a nice area. Let me know if you need anything. I live on the other end of Overton Road from there. Welcome to Bham.

Overton and wine? We used to live right behind there...
We lived on Poe street; let me tell you it ain't Poe no mo.
Why we ever moved from Cahba Heights is a mystery to me.

Yeah, the place right in front of poe on overton. I haven't been in there in a couple of years, but between the cleaners and magic muffin.

There is a place called NY Butcher or somthing like that near Yankee's pizza that has good steaks and good selection of beer.

So I done good?!

I LOVE the fact that I can go and buy the cheapest digital antenna and pick up 16 stations! I really only watch NBC anyway... Auburn was just far enough to have issues picking up channels.
Hating not having internets until this weekend though.... At least I have the iPhone to save me!
Brought up enough today to get me through the week: Bed, recliner, TV, some clothes.
COME VISIT!
As soon as I get my DVDs up here we can watch rock bouncers!!! I went over to RickyB's pad tonight and had pizza and watched the Gorilla Run DVD from Superlift.

You found a nice area Eric, Miranda has some family that live in Vestavia Hills...
