It's finally here! Picked it up at the freight terminal this morning. Pictures and words can't described how awesome this bumper is. The attention to detail and finish work are amazing, very happy so far. Also comes with all the hardware and fairlead mount not pictured here. What you see here weighs in at 122lbs, with my winch being 84lbs and getting ready to do dual batteries, this rig is starting to get heavy.

Stay tuned, rolling on liner right now and install to come later tonight. 12k lb winch going on as well. I'm trying a different kind of liner, it's actually a deck restore coating, we'll see if it works out.

Here's a link to their website, Binks Fabrication More info and pictures are on their facebook page, they do lots of sick fab work. If anybody's wondering this bumper was $850, bare metal with hardware and fairlead mount. Shipping was $130 from their shop in CA to Portland, OR and I picked it up at the shipping terminal. I used uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves for the first time, and it was pretty easy going, saved a bunch of $$ on the shipping.

Well, no install tonight, went golfing instead. Wasn't too bad for my first time out this year. Anyway, got the bumper coated, looks good so far. This coating is a bit on the rough side, but it's coming out pretty nice. Rolled two coats on with about 6 hours(one round of golf) in between coats. You definitely need two coats with this stuff, the second really fills it in and creates a more consistent texture.

Hopefully I can get finished with work early tomorrow and get this and the winch installed tomorrow. Also trying to get dual batteries installed, but that may have to wait for another day.

This is the stuff I'm using, feel free to give me crap for using a deck coating, but it's looking really strong, and you can have it tinted with one of about 15 color choices. I didn't ask if you could do custom tints, but I can't see why they wouldn't. Here's a link to the product, Deck Restore Liquid Armor

Looks good, lets see some pictures of it mounted up

I didn't use any primer, being as this stuff is made to go on concrete and wood, wasn't sure if primer would just make it worse. What I did do was wire wheel the whole bumper and clean it with a MEK. I have had great success with this method before, but never with deck coating. We will see I guess, it was cheap enough to work as a test, if it fails, I'll sand blast the whole thing and use Durabak or Al's liner.

Getting of work in a few, shooting for an evening install. :D

Looks nice. I like the coating. Cheap and effective. You will like how much more clearance you have. The ol y down side to the bumper is the A/C drier needs to be tucked up.

Another thing to mention is make sure your cooling system is good. I noticed a little hotter temps running long hills with the winch up high in front of the radiator. At highway speeds.

Finally got the bumper mounted, wasn't too bad, took me longer to get the winch in place.

Looking a bit bare here,

Here's the template for the cut that must be made to the frame. You don't cut anything important, so a stock bumper could still mount right back.

All trimmed and painted, ready for the bumper.

Looking good here, pretty nice fit, has just 1/2" between the back of the bumper and the body. A little space between the fender flare, but that seems to be unavoidable.

Got the winch in there, was a tight fit between the grill and hoop, but it went right in.

And checking suspension sag with tomorrows pending additions, dual PM1's, these things are heavier then they look. 75lbs each. Picked them up at Sears today, got them to just about match the online sale price from last week, after tax it was just under $500, helluva lot of cash for some batteries, but we will be needing them I believe.

So, for reference, with the stock bumper I measured 43" from the ground to fender flare, with the Bink's bumper that went to 42-3/8", toss the winch on and it went to 42". Add the two PM1's to it and it went to 41-1/2", so that'll be a solid 1.5" loss in lift with this whole setup. Sitting on OME J's and 2" of spacer right now, but switching to Slee 6" springs tomorrow. I'll have to get going on the rear bumper and tire carrier to get the rig leveled out I guess.

So far I'm happy with the deck coating. It dried very hard and is a bit on the abrasive side, so it may also be tough to keep clean. I guess time will tell.
