Put a new set of Bilsteins on my 100 this week and can't stop laughing at how much better the ride is! 15 years ago I did it to a range rover and I remember being amazed. Thanks Bilstein for making great products! If you have been waffling on which shocks to buy stop and buy the Bilsteins!!!

That is really great to hear. What springs are you running, are you lifted, and are the Bilstein's longer than stock?

Changed my ranchero's over to bilsteins and totally agree. Simply need to decrease the sway on the highway. changing sway bar links and bushings next then tie rod ends and will keep my fingers crossed.

Glad to hear you like em. I am still trying to find the right fit for me, price and performance combo that is.

I have had my Bilsteins almost a year. Very happy with the ride. Much less body roll.

Which bilsteins are you running? Do the raise the LC at all?

Cheers,
Mike

do yall think the Bilsteins are better than the nitrocharged shocks that come with the OME lifts now?

I don't have direct experience, but judging by the fact that ome are rebadged Monroe's and bilstein are high quality German engineering... Yes. They won't give you the travel of some ome shocks, but the ride will be much more controlled.

They are too short for off-road, and you have to air down excessively to soften the ride on high speed FS roads. I had to swap them out in the rear and move to a longer shock. Now, upfront they are fabulous, due to the limited travel having a shock that dampens and rebounds much faster than stock/OME/Monroe is great (not as fast or efficient as the higher priced shocks available). Since they are a more "rigid but quick" shock it helps keep the truck off the bumpstops and not causing wheel hop on washboard. Now the downside on the front is they are shorter than stock shocks (not by much at all). I seem to find myself topping the shocks out constantly. I am running 2.5" of lift in the front with no diff drop...so that may be the cause of that.

anyways...hope my opinion helped, let me know if you need any information.

shocks shouldn't raise your ride height much if any at all. justdifferentials.com has the nicer 5100 bilstein if you are interested.
What length did you go on the 5100's.I put the standard Bilstein on my other cruiser but the newest ones are due to be replaced and am looking at adding a 2" lift or the 30MM risers like you are running. The websites I looked at said you had to measure.

I don't have them, I was just saying that you could find them here: 98-07 LANDCRUISER 100 DELUXE SUSPENSION W/ BILSTEIN 5100 & UCA'S [JTOUCA-TLC100-DELUXE KIT] - $1,975.00 : JTs Parts & Accessories, Justdifferentials.com

I just found the Bilsteins for $77 with free shipping and no sales tax on Amazon. I ordered a set and what might be a set of OME865 springs.

So I guess we'll find out if the Bilsteins are too short for the 1.5" lift that the Medium duty 865 springs supposedly provide.
