Big thanks to both Brian and Logan for driving all the way to virginia beach with me yesterday to pull a rear FF axle (heavy ass mofo) out of an 80 and then drive all the way back with me.

And another thanks to Brian and Heather for letting us stay at their place on Saturday night to cut three hours off of our sunday journey.

Hey, I had fun in that hot junkyard. Got my two Taurus e-fans, one is the exact correct one, one is a little wider than the radiator, but it should still be usable. Got some switches for my future spot light wiring, and got to diagnose the PHH, rather than a head gasket leak.

All in all a very productive day...

It was just a kind of last minute thrown together thing. I was going to post up to see if anyone needed anything but we wouldn't have gotten a reply till we got back and as it was I got home at 1230 last night.

Al, good to tear you got your rear axle.
Brian, glad it was the phh and not the hg.

You 80 guys know or have a personal preference to the PHH fix? Gates green stripe or the silicone?

I used the blue silicone one (link from the vendor section)...worked great. I paid my guy in Liberty to install it...was only 40 bucs but he said it was the last one he'd do at that price :hillbilly:.

X2. I prefer the silicone hose for flexibility and heat resistance.

Glad you guys made it back with no issues or problem. That was a hot and humid day to be in a junkyard:cheers:.

Not factory locked, but I beleive his plans are to put an Aussie in before it goes on the truck...

Yeah plans are new rotors/pads/rebuild kit/aussie locker then it goes on the truck

Don't know how I missed this thread...many thanks to both of ya'll for letting me tag along for the ride. And more to Brian and Heather for the hospitality....especially the awesome :princess: bed.

New fender, some birfs and inner shafts, a questionable spindle, and some rebuildable calipers for the future front brake upgrade for me. Too bad I got charged for EVERYTHING attached to anything I grabbed....but $170 for what I got isn't the worst thing in the world.
