Well I am REEEAAAALLYY STRUGGLING with this decision to say the least!!!

This is by far the best 55 I have ever owned (and I have had about 15 of them) and the last thing I WANT to do is sell it! But my finances are way out of wack and I must sell:mad:!

So here it is.....1972 FJ55 aka "BIG ORANGE"!

The Good::cool:

SBC 400 w/quad jet carb

TH350 trans w/torque lock out (gives it a little over drive)

3spd transfer case 2.3:1

Saganaw power steering

35 x 12.5 x 15 mud tires on 15 x 10 steelies

Front Disc brakes

4" susp lift

Rhino lined floor front to back

Rear power window (WORKS AWESOME)!

Chevy lilt steering wheel

Factory skid plate

new shocks

Silverado seats w/shoulder belt built in (VERY NICE!)

Four point harness in the rear and the rear seat in recovered

New Paint, rolled on to give texture and durablity

Floor boards and body very solid, the 2 major rust holes (bottom f & r fenders) where cut out and new sheet metal welded in!

This is one of the most rust free 55's I have ever seen (came from out west)

Has NO mechanical issues!!!

RUNS AND DRIVES GREAT!

I wouldn't hesitate to drive it ANYWHERE!

And it will cruise at 75mph with NO PROBLEM!

The Bad::doh:

Has no headliner

New paint, rolled on to also hide inperfections in the body

Yes it has some bondo (but very little) because the PO got to close to some trees

No A/C, but can be added for $1000

No lockers, but can be added f&r for $700

The Other (I know it's supposed to be "The Ugly" but there just isn't anything ugly about this Pig!)::)

4.11 gears

Could use some custom bumpers and rock slides, which I can install for a small price

Needs a bigger brake booster (stops GREAT you just have to press a little harder), one out of a disc brake cruiser (preatty easy to come by!)

I am asking $6500 feel free to PM me with any offers!

I live in Cartersville, GA and my phone number is 404-392-8534

Here are some pics, let me know if you have any questions:D.

Here's a shot of the hood so you can see the texture.

Looks real good?.....Yes?:D:D:D

I was the PO for this rig. I Like what you've done with it Roy, for those considering it...runs and drives awesome. Well built truck that is solid...wish it wasn't so far away....my wife would kill me....

Thanks caldentey! It was a lot of work but looks good now.

I have had some people ask me what kind of lift that is and I was thinking you told me it's a Man-A-Fre. Is that correct?

beautiful rig!!! sorry you have to get rid of it.

Your rig looks good, I dig the orange. Do you have any interest in a 1980 Toyota Truck with 4x4, 4 speed manual, and a/c? I live up north of Buford, Ga. I can't swing $6500 right now though. Any rust issues?

Trade ya an old fj62 with $2000 in the glovebox...:grinpimp:

BTW: what kind of paint is that, durabak, etc?

I'm assuming the original color was white? Before the stellar roll on job? :D How far into the jams does the paint go? Pics?

Nothing against the color...I mean, I did spend a couple years bombarding my liver in Knoxville :D

I'm in Atlanta. Was originally looking for a 40...but this thing...well...speaks for itself.

Thanks for all the complements.

The original color was grey and white.

The paint is an industrial oil based machenery paint, sorry not Durabak.

As for how far into the jams the paint goes....well just check out the pics.:D:D:D

Where the paint looks more yellow is just because that's where the sun is hitting it. It's all VERY ORANGE believe me!:bounce:

Do you have any pics before paint, showing previous rust spots?

Sorry for the slight hijack but can you tell me what you did to your roof - what type of paint and did you use some sort of metal tape?
The PO did the roof and yes it is that chrome duct tape and the he used a flat white paint over it. Looks pretty good really!

Yes, here is a pic and it had another spot just like it on the other side both where cut out and new metal welded in.

The light grey color is the original color but it is badly oxidized and makes it look almost light blue however in places where the sun couldn't get, it was very grey!

SOLD!!! sold!!! SOLD!!!:D

Thanks for all the complements and for all the interest in my big o'l Pig.

I sold it to a fellow MUD subsciber and I know "BIG ORANGE" is going to a good home!
