Well, some college buddies and I just got back from our 2nd annual run down to Big Bend. The weather was very nice this year and we caught a lot of the park in bloom and greener than usual. This year we had my 1985 FJ60, a 1975 FJ40, and a 1985 J**p CJ-7. I also brought along my newly-restored M101 Canadian with the Mombasa tent mod that I recently completed. It worked out great. This trailer can haul tons of water and gasoline and never look back. Truly perfect for a long haul where there are no gas stations nearby and when you want to get the weight out of the vehicle.
The pics include a campsite on the River Road (Loop Camp 1) at the Rio Grande, Santa Elena Canyon, The Starlight Theatre in Terlingua (GREAT hospitality, GREAT food, and GREAT beer), and quite a few other scenic spots. I think I have fallen in love with Terlingua. This town is one of the strangest and coolest places I have seen in a while.
Enjoy the pics. Pic 1 is the M101 loaded up, Pic 2 is the Gravel Pit Road at the Rio Grande, and Pic 3 is the River Road just past Mariscal Mountain.
