I just noticed my KO2 on my passenger side rear (now rotated to the front) has a chunk missing. I have done some off roading but i was not expecting this big chunk missing from the tread. Can i claim a defect?

Since i needed a spare i guess this will be it......darn

Short answer, no. It looks like its a hazard of having a good time!! Defective tires are commonly out of round, damaged belts or cords, or tread delamination. Things like that... a chunk of tread missing while playing? Unfortunately, not the manufacturers responsibility. Also, keep in mind the carcass of that tire is almost 3/4 of and inch thick!! You've barely scratched the surface, if it hasn't torn into the belts, I would run it till it becomes a problem. If you are going to replace it, it will be a fantastic candidate for a full size spare!!

I had two ko2 chunk off entire lugs on the outer portion. One was also cut on the sidewall down to the banding.

The worstgot trashed and replaced, best became my new spare. It happens sometimes, one of the hazards you have to be willing to accept when driving off-road.

If you had a cert on it from discount tire you would be getting a new tire.

I cant really tell, but in different area of the tires, do you have some cracking like this?
