Hoping to ease my slight concern that I may have bought the wrong tire size. I just got the BFG 275/65R 18 on my LC200, but after reading on this forum, most go with bigger tires, e.g. 70 vs 65... Can someone tell me if these tires are good to go? I plan on installing a roof rack and front ARB bumper. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

285/65/18 usually fits without rubbing on stock wheels, slightly taller 275/70 can introduce really light rubbing that can be addressed easily. Note that KO2s usually run small, so something that works on that model might not in others even with the same size.

Thank you. On then “looks” front, do the tires fill my LC enough?

That is really subjective. Personally I’m not a fan of the narrower look of 275s on our vehicles, but other people really like it. As for filling the wheel wells I believe a 275/65 is about as tall as the stock 285/60, so I don’t think it would have much benefit, but it’s hard to tell from the above perspective.

Nothing wrong with the size you have. It's safe and perhaps conservative for a 200-series, if that's what you're getting at?

Once upon a time, a factory approved tire size was 285/70R17, or 32.7" diameter tire (your 275/65R18 measures 32", stock 31.4"). So you can see there's ample opportunity to go up.

As you've suggested you're going down the path of rack and bumper, it sounds like you may be wanting something on the more aggressive end of the spectrum? A 285/60R18 will be a better and more proportionately sized tire IMO for the mods you're thinking. The larger tire may have some nice added benefits of additional clearance, more sidewall for a bit more ride quality and off-road compliance. Perhaps with a small hit to MPG.

There's opportunity to go further still, to almost a 34" tire size with relatively minimal mods if that interests you.

Thank you! Glad to hear that there’s nothing wrong with what I got. Next up is a Front Runner Roof Rack. I’m not planning on too much off-roading, just plenty of camping trips with my family. So hopefully the tires will suffice.

I think you’ll be surprised how well they perform. Far more than suffice. Just get out there and enjoy it!
