Was at Sears and saw General Grabber™ AT2 tire. http://www.generaltire.com/generato.../extreme_traction/grabber_at2/benefit_en.html
It was next to the BFG AT/KO. It looks like BFG has a clone.
For a all-train (if you like girlish tires) it looks like it might be good as the AT/KO.
The $114 vs $168 for the 285 makes it look even better.

I still like the Cooper Discovery S/T for an all-train. It has a open side lug vs the closed side like most all-trains have. I might have to try them out when my mullet tires wear out.

didn't see anything about the triple sidewall ply, which is one of the big draws of the BFG for me...

who makes the General tires, btw?

I just had new tires put on the work van . I asked for something with a little more bite( I get it stuck 3+ times a year :D TLC goes through everything ,ford van dosnt  ) and got some off brand that looks just like a BFG AT as for the bead protection and the tread in the middle but a little different on the edges .
I think BFG is starting to make some no names with the carcess of the A/Ts

Many tires look the same, but the composition of the rubber and the makeup of the tire are probably different. Another good tire for the all terrain, especially if you get snow, is the Bridgestone Dueller REVO. Just make sure it is the revo.
