best upgrades for snow

I've run Blizzaks and the Cooper M&S studded on my 100 as snow tires. The blizzaks are initially better due to the soft rubber compound, but they do not last to long due to this as well. The one's I had were also P rated and smaller than the 33" I run in summer (have OME MD kit). You can get the Coopers in a full 33" size and they are snowflake rated without the studs, the studs just make them better on ice. You can go with any snow tire you want, but I would recommend going with a specific snowflake rated tire, not an AT tire that can be pinned for studs and then aftermarket siped. I've researched this extensively and come to the conclusion for MT (I also travel to Butte for work at least once a week) that a full E rated, studded, snow specific tire works best for me.

I run non-studded TSR's and couldn't be happier. Studs will be great for you, I just don't need them here in AR. BTW I have 50k miles on my 285 Kelly's and will get a solid 60k miles out of them. Great tire.

General Grabber AT2 on a 100 flawless in the snow!

Just buy a second so you don't have to switch wheels.

Any details on that build?? I've seen that photo around the interwebs multiple times but I've always wanted to know a little bit more info on how they constructed that track-driven system.

No idea. Just figured this thread had produced a lot of good ideas maybe a fun one was in order. Found the pic on the web with a quick search. Here is a shot of the tracks. Look to be a set of Mattracks. So probably a straight bolt up. I sure hope it contributes to more snow cat 100's.

Those mad tracks are a waste of money. Ditch the cruiser and get a BV206 (used, for a modest $50 grand more):

Also great for summers at (in) the lake...

In all seriousness, I ride Michelin LTX MS2's in the summer and Geolander's in the winter. Any good set of winter tires will have you in good shape on Mountain roads.
