Soaking the line does not do anything other than waiste your time and get the line wet before you use it.
Polymer, co-polymer and tri-polymer does not absorb water. If you want a line head similar to the Speed Feed, look at the AutoCut 25-2C. My wife ran the prototype unit 6 years ago. We came out with the head 4 years ago. If the dealer does not have one in stock, look at the stock/standard head on an FS 55 that he does have in stock. You will still be limited to .105" line. Try winding it before you by it. Try winding both of them before you buy either or any of them.
In my 30 years, I have not seen a bump head that works worth a damn with .130" line.
