Hello all, before I run some bio in my bj60, I want to install a pre filter by the IP. The question is, which hose? I assume the one leading to the fuel pump? Has anyone else done this to a 3B,any pics? Thanks!

Thanks, I am really just looking to install a small cheap pre filter ahead of the main filter (same set up as a mercedes) as I will be running some bio soon and that stuff loosens up a lot of junk in the tank fast. Just need to splice into the right hose. Any done this to their 3B? thanks!

I think the Racor idea is the best. You can run a 2 micorn racor filter on the Racor fuel water separator and it will keep your primary fuel filter clean, Just keep a spare filter with you for a while and swich it out when you notice a power loss or hard starting.

It sometimes only takes one tank of nasty diesel or bio to clog a 2 micron filter.

there is only one line going to the pump on a 3b. just splice into it after it leaves the hard line on the frame rail. run it to your filter and then to the pump.

if it is a small inline filter(like a mercedes) put that directly infront of the pump(like a mercedes).

I would just a large racor too. You can also get a heat option for them for the cold days running bio........ just a thought. Warm fuel is happy fuel.
