Best place to bring a diff for repair?

A friend of mine has a hum or grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr in his front diff when he lifts off the gas at highway speeds. Bearden is just so darn expensive. Is there anyplace to bring it for diagnosis and repair?

Most shops are running $80 to $95 an hour for labor. To pull a front dif is a lot of work. So did Beardon say it was a front dif?

Called crawltex or how ever you spell it, guy seemed very nice and knowledgeable. May just bring it there. I will call Cox automotive as well.

My old 80 had that grrrrr when I let off the gas. It was the pinion bearings. Shaun over at Edwin's old shop did the work.

Take the third out yourself! Its time consuming but not hard to do.
