Guys, I am a newbie and have an 86 fj60. I need the names of several places with good prices for parts and trim parts? Also, I want to replace my dashboard and some interior trim pieces? Any good places to look? Thanks, Hutch

Good prices, the Sale section.

A place that has just about everything is Spectre Off Road in Chatsworth CA. I can't speak much to the prices because...well...they tend to be on the high side but they have had everything that I was looking for...and stuff I didn't even know I wanted :p

The things I've noticed...

DO NOT USE COOL CRUISERS. I'm just finishing with most of the trim replacement on an 84 FJ60, my buddy and his dad just finished their 85 FJ60s and all three of us have had really bad experiences with cool cruisers of texas. Usually it is orders taking forever, or not being told you had back ordered items, or items checked off like you were sent them but are absent in the shipment, or simply the wrong parts. On the other hand, Spector Offroad has been extremely helpful; to the point that they have taken time to search out the best used part in stock while I am on the phone.

I didn't believe that CCOT was that bad until I had my own problems, so I wouldn't recommend learning the hard way.

As I do regularly, I recommend Cruiserparts.net. Because this is essentially a very large cruiser salvage yard as well as a new parts supplier, you can prepare your list, call 1-888-941-3450, get prices and any technical advice you may need. I would recommend getting prices from other sources so you have a basis for contrast. As for the moment, I know Stainless 40/45 in the Classified section is currently taking apart an FJ 60. The dash pad was still there and it looked in pretty good condition. Drop Stainless an e-mail; he's definitely a good guy. Good luck.

For the cheapest prices hands down look in the classifieds. People part out vehicles all the time. I live 30 minutes from SOR and they are really nice as said above. They are pricey but have a huge presence for our cruisers. They have a sale in August for 20% off on stock items. Good luck, I have no affiliation with SOR by the way. I just like them because I got a used snorkel for $100. :)
