I am looking to replace my stolen BJ74 with a late 90's SWB Prado
(I cant find another BJ74!)
Is there a site which gives a summary of models?
It seems the following are generally available here;
VZJ95, KZJ90, KDJ95, RZY95, RZJ90 and KZTE?
As far as I know, R=2.7l petrol (gas), V=3.4l petrol and K=Diesel?
What does the rest mean?
They also have TX, TZ or RX and RZ designation?

Any preferences among these?
My priorities are reliability, ease of maintenance and economy.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

VZJ95,, RZY95, RZJ90 KZJ90, KDJ95

The KZ series are diesel and use the 1KZT-E Engine.
The VZ are petrol and use the 3.4 engine.

The 90 stands for short wheel base, and 95 is long wheel base...or other way around.

In the UK there was a model, 2000+ that came with the D4D 120 series engine.

I think the RZ trims were the base models, cloth interior, and the the TX had the leather and climate control.

Obviously for economy the 1KZTE engine is best, although the later D4D models are a lot better and powerful but were only sold here in the UK. Both engines are very reliable once taken care of. The petrol engine is very good as well, very powerful and can be supercharged. It's just not as economic to run.
