im looking to install a remote start on my 2013 200. Need advice on the top brands and if possible any installation videos.

Thanks in advance.

Why not go for the Toyota one? Can find the install instructions, looked like it was fairly inexpensive for the module. The only thing I think you have to do is go to the dealer and have them program something after you install it.

Are you sure it didn't already come with one? I thought they all came with remote start...mine did. I could be wrong though. It happened once before.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. How will I know if it does. I have tried to do the "lock button twice then hold". I would like to know where it is on the starter or relay. Physically locate the mechanism or not. I'll watch the video after work. Thanks

It's an option for newer Land Cruisers. When I was searching for one, every LC I encountered in dealer stock had it (it's a $500 up charge) but if you got a "base" model LC it would not have it. I suspect that if someone ordered their LC and wanted just the "base" luxury model they probably ignored ticking that box.

And given that the remote starter is really only good for just cooling down the truck before you enter (since the engine shuts off when you open a door) I could see why some people would bypass installing it. So be cautious of that as you bid the Toyota factory option to an aftermarket solution.

If you have the factory one, take a look at the install link I posted. It has where they locate the module.

You can press the lock button on the key fob three times and you find out if you already have one or not. It is dealer installed option and they pretty much do it on all of them.
