Has anyone used a universial Bendix seat belt as a replacement belt for their rig? I've seen these in Jeeps, but not in real offroad vehicles like Land Cruisers. I'm just replacing my old, nasty OEM belts with a similar 3 point strap system.

Found some that worked perfectly in the FJ55 http://store.yahoo.net/wescoperformance/seatbelts.html

Only thing is that they don't supply metric fasteners - had to bootyfab a spacer from some sch 40 pipe for attaching the clip to the mount behind B-pillar. And, of course, the contacts for the seat belt curcuit are missing.

I bought the CCOT belts for the front seats and the jump seats for my '40 and I'm pleased with the quality. I welded the shoulder mount to my rollbar, so I wouldn't lose the three-point with the hardtop off.

Thanks Ming,

The ones I saw where on Ebay for about $15 more than your site. The $140 from CCOT was just too much. Also, I replaced my rear jump seats with a bench seat and need longer lap belts than were available at CCOT.

CCOT was having a sale when I bought mine, significantly reduced although I don't remember exactly what I paid for them. I went to the link above and I think that's the best deal.

I pulled some out of a regular cab 80's Toyota pickup and they went in very easily in my 55 just the other night, three point seatbelts, I chose grey and they are great. Drilled a hole in the bottom of the pillar between the doors. Then reused the OEM holes for the shoulder strap that are 19 mm head (or the american equivalent same size head in a coarse pitch works well. Then drilled two sets of holes, one for the bottom of the seatbelt on the floor and I quickly made a bracket that attached the catch to the floor. Best part, maybe $15 for all 4 at the junk yard?
