does anyone have one of these? I need to replace a belt tensioner pulley which is at the top right hand side of my belt network (on my Right hand drive bj74) and I'm not sure which one it is (and therefore what part number i need).

thanks in advance.

megazip.net has good diagrams available to the public.

Ok so from this and my pic it looks to me like I need the "IP" does that seem correct?

The tensioner is loose and I'm wondering if that is the source of this gnarly vibrational growl I occasionally get from the front end. I'm torn between thinking its the pulley an something more serious like a wheel bearing.....

A wheel bearing is usually constant. Its hard when the noise is only occasional.
Try removing the idler and see if you can feel any movement. Sometimes a good soaking in lubricant will make them behave for a fair while, I got another 3 months out of mine.

yeah there is some play in it even while its still mounted. Maybe I'll shoot some lube in there and see if it goes away.

As you can see here, the pulley shares the same bearing as the AC idler pulley of a 1FZ engine. 88440-26090 is the pulley assembly part number. You can buy that pulley, remove new bearing and install it into your idler pulley. Or you can go to a bearing supply shop and see if they can get you just the bearing. NSK part number is in first picture.

I have the pulley in stock. I can get one out to you today if you would like.

I'm sorry to say that I didn't see the last text on your post until just now. I ordered on Amazon but just came back here because only after ordering it did I realize that i might need special toolage to pull that bearing. Is that so? Or can I just pound it out?

Ok so I got the pulley and I removed the snap ring, but that bearing seems well stuck in there.

technique for removal?

A press tool? You will need something that is the OD of the bearing, ID of the pulley internal circumference of the center and then press it out.

I have a Mac press tool kit that works great with a bench vice for items like this where the 20ton power of a floor press are not needed.

Swapped one of these bearings today. Fwiw the NSK 6301DDUC3E is a direct fit and commonly available at bearing supply houses. They showed the 6301DU2 superceding to the 6301DDUC3E though they can still order the 6301DU2 as well. It's fits perfectly and they said it actually has a higher spec than the 6301DU2 based on number of balls, same seal factor, etc. We have a stash of them if anyone down the road needs them. They are under $10 for the loose bearing as I recall.
