I'm not sure about the numbers but I found a 10 piece pack of Osram 5637 24v bulbs 10w for $7.99 free shipping. On eBay .would they work?

They will work as long as they will fit in the cover. that's about what I found.

Well I'm going for it. Worst case I'm out 8 bucks. Best case I have bulbs for a while. Now how about the harness from the plate forward. While under the back I saw a connector wire tied to the axle. I think it might be where I would connect the plate harness. Would a 12v harness work for a 24v need? If so I could look for a fj40 harness. Thoughts?

It's going to run inside your door anyhow, not really an easy way to hide it... Maybe just splice it to the running light wire on the passenger rear? Otherwise, you could just run a new wire all the way up to the light switch up front.

I think splicing is the way to go with an inline disconnect and fuse should I take the doors off and then place the plate on the existing hanger. There are a couple connectors near the back that are possibly the right connection. We'll see.

Our harnesses should be the same, you are welcome to have a look at where mine breaks out and we can trace it back a bit.

That would be great. I talked to a guy at AutoZone today and he thought a #12 wire would be right for 24v. Did you we my thread on grill alignment ?

I did, but I don't have any suggestions... It sounds like your grill is not lining up with the captive nuts? The only thing I can think is to apply pressure to align the holes and then tighten them down in an opposing pattern (like wheel lugs). I had a bear of a time getting my fan shroud back on... It came off easily, but it only goes back on one way. It was strange.

Yeah I just had to stop and sleep on it and have a fresh look at it tomorrow. I look forward to getting together. It's always good to get different perspectives. After all it's only nuts and bolts. Front diff was pretty low filled it today. Will do the rear tomorrow.

All is good. Front grill is in looks great. Got the 10w 25v bulbs. They look a little fat for a bayonet bulb but we'll see. Also refurbishing the rear jump seats paint and seat belts. Keeping the original covers.

Sure would appreciate your help, next week is good for me. Any day. Retired you know. Don't think I can do North Carolina yet. Need to find the wire harness for the license plate.
I picked up some 14ga wire and connectors. Have the bulbs just need to know when you want to come over and play cars. Do you have a tester ?

I do have a tester, I'll need to read the manual! Sorry for the slow reply, I've switched over to working night shift for the next month so my days are pretty open. You'll need to sand and paint the license bracket, FYI... But I think I already mentioned that :-)

No you didn't but that's fine. Whenever you want to come over . We can run the wire get it ready to go and I'll prep the bracket. Do the light covers need paint also?
I spoke to the guy I bought it from and he said the specific grey paint works for the glove box cover, rear door latch cover, door steps and probably the licence plate bulb socket covers. I'll have to get that yet.

Could you shoot me a pic of the bracket so I know what's needed. I saw one on eBay for 50 and it was pretty pitted.

Jeremy could you send me a pic of the bracket so I can see the condition?

I fully intended to text you a picture earlier... then I got called in to work and just got home...
