So I have been reading the exhaust headers all break in the "same place" and "even it you get new OEM it will break again in the same place". I am going to be putting on new OEM headers , is there a way for me to preemptively address the weak points BEFORE the install? Or is that just an exhaust pipe dream?

I wouldn't bother. If you're not dealing with emissions, get headers. Makes a nice power difference.

I wouldn't modify them then, any warranty you get from Toyota would be void. Realistically I think you can expect 10 years/150k miles before they go bad again. Be sure to use OEM gaskets.

@Ignignot

Speaking from experience of dealer replacement then failure in 14 months, some bandaids and ultimately bilateral manifold failure.......

Yep, pretty sure they all failed in the same way.

Check your engine mounts, they may be packed out and crushed.

Check your exhaust hanger isolators too, a snapped one can add extra pressure on the system lending to the failure on the bend of the rail....

I ultimately went Doug Thorley shorties, but those tips would be my recommendation for other fixes when going with stock manifolds.

Here's my saga:
Stock exhaust manifold tictictic failure saga: Part 1 and fix, and beginning of Part 2, then Doug Thorley Shorty saga begins here. Ordered new engine isolators (motor mounts) and transmission mount
