Have had this trailer a couple years and since I dont have access to a pickup it gets all hauling duties. My main worry is rust on the floor since it is stored outside. Ive pained it twice but that scratches off much to easy. That leads me to lining the bed with something.

I enjoy that is all purpose right now and fairly bullet proof that i can loan it out and not worry it will be damaaged. One day I may put a lid on it for a rtt or mod it more in a expo direction and want to leave that option open. I really like the durability of professional spay in liners like linex but worry down the road Ill want to change something and want to drill new holes and weld up the old ones or add a rack or some thing and have no touch up option. diy roll on could be touched up but doesnt have the strength to hold up to hauling gravel for example. Is there a product that you feel is the right compromise for this?

Have durabak in my 40 and has held up fairly well but dont think its up to heavy duty. What about monstoliner? Any thoughts on its durability?

I used the Rust-Oleum® Truck Bed Coating- spray can. Cheap and easy!

If your M416 is still stock with no tailgate and you haul gravel then remove it with a shovel not sure what type of coating would work. Looks like you live in a drier region of the US. Personally I would just keep touching up the paint you have. My M416 spends enough time outside. I don't have a tailgate in mine. I just angle it and make sure the floor drains are open and clear. If you get snow throw a tarp ever it. When hauling stuff like gravel throw a piece of plywood on the floor and let that take the abuse.

Yes fairly dry climate. No it has a tailgate and i do store at angle to keep water from pooling. Rust is starting to pit so navel jelly and a wire brush are in order but would prefer to coat with something to save me from having to repeat the process again. Thought liner might help add scratch resistants and maybe some strenght to the bed. A quality epoxy primer and paint might be the easiest option but lacks the other two qualities

If you line it and cut the liner with a shovel that will allow water to get trapped under the liner and rust. Still a fan of using a piece of plywood when needed. Then remove when not used.

Hello I have a m416 trailer and had it for 15 yrs . I had the bed sandblasted and then painted on herculiner I bought the kit that came with everything including a gallon of the bedliner.
It has worked flawless and has stayed strong all those years

I took it to bare metal and used a rust killing product and than layed down some epoxy primer and top coated with industial paint. Looks great just hope it holds up to abuse.
