what's the tire rated max pressure?
Your door jamb probably recommended 32psi....for smaller tires with a lower load rating than what you installed....EVERY tire size and brand will have a different load rating, and pressures need to be adjusted to match....and the OEM pressure is always their compromise for load, handling and wear anyways.
35-40 is quite high....I'd guess 28-32 for the max, and front and rear would be different...
I also run my tires higher on the highway for less rolling resistance....but air them down a lot for the trail...

I was wrong about the PSI rating on the tire...you were right...glad I posted here...the door jamb says 32 like what you said and the max PSI on the tire is 35 PSI...that's load range C
The other tires I have on my runner are load range E...got them cheep...I bet they are the ones I was thinking of...
Ok then I'll lower the pressure on the Cruiser tires...I suppose it's time to put "Winter" air in anyway...
