Last night in the meeting we discussed the idea of a Christmas Party, but since everything is closed down like an Orwellian nightmare, we thought it would be a good idea to do a wheeling/camping/shooting party out in the desert. The date of Saturday December 19th got tossed out as a fairly good day for the majority. I was thinking we could meet up at Motero Wash Google Maps and wheel out around Dos Cabezas then work back toward camp over North of Ocotillo by the Quarry to finish up the day with some target practice. We can set up camp there as well, there is plenty of room for as many rigs that want to come

It's my kiddo's bday that day and we have plans for the evening. We might be able to make a day trip though.

I cant make it the 26th, we are having our family Christmas get together that day. Might have to make two Christmas Party trips?

Why don't we just plan on two runs, since it looks like people are split on their schedules for the holidays this year? Then there are those that are lucky enough to go on both!

So for those joining the run and camping this weekend we will plan on meeting at around 10:00 Saturday morning at the entrance to Mortero Wash Mortero Wash (Anza-Borrego State Park®) Then end up over East by the Quarry to do some afternoon shooting and camping.
A few of us might be heading out Friday afternoon to make a weekend out of it and we will probably camp around here 32.794955, -116.156129 or here

I think we will be heading out of San Diego around 2:00 or 3:00 if anyone wants to meet up Friday night.

Run #1 was a success, had a blast exploring new areas(to me) closer to the 8. Here is a fun contrast, Justin took this video of me crawling up this somewhat technical rutted out climb nice and slow. And the photo is of my buddy in his 3rd gen flying up the same climb, catching air at the top. Fun times all around with good people, good food, and good weather.

The PreChristmas run was over all a good time and we got to have a little fun. We didn't see anyone all day so we had it all to ourselves and Wheeled the SW corner of the Anza Borrego SP then ended up on BLM and got to fire off a few practice rounds before settling in for the night.
