Anyone have a line on firewood?

We have a pallet and about 10 logs to bring

I’ll bring a couple bundles of wood as well. For dinner Saturday I can bring a side plus chips and dip and what nots.

I’m also planning on leaving around 2:30 on Friday. Will I be the first one out there?

Ill be out there by around 100. I'll look for a good camp spot

My ETA is about 5:30. My truck and "Pack mule" trailer are loaded to the max.

So I posted up about 3 miles South of the turn off on split mountain road. About 100 yds from the tracks, should be easy to find.

Eta is 6:11

We'll keep a light on for ya!

I have my radio on 146.490

Home, unpacked, truck washed. Great times!

I am uploading pictures. Stan from the TLCA said he is ready for the next article. Is anyone interested in writing one? If they accept it you get $200.

I have several images and videos that I can upload.

Tim or someone mentioned that we should change our name to Eat N Toys due to the high caliber grub (oh so pun-ny) at this year's Camp and Shoot. It was a great time once more. We had a solid turnout. I brought my 3 boys, Daniel, Garrett, and Brennan.

Before I tell my tale, I came home with a few things that aren't mine. If you make it to the club Christmas party the 21st feel free to claim them or I can bring them to the January meeting.

Friday I spent most of the day packing. My kids were excited to bring their various ride on toys so it was on as far as tetris-ing everything into the truck and trailer.

In total we brought:
- Daniels E-KTM which start as a 2001 KTM roller, no engine, into which we fabbed up the mounts for the motor, battery, etc... It's a cool little bike and turned out really well.
- Garrett's ebike which is our folding RV bike when on trips. Due to its fat tires it actually does quite well out there.
- Brennan's little 24V quad. I upped it from 350W to 500W and installed 18Ah lithium batteries on larger tires. It's Ok but even aired down it bogged a lot.
- My stealth bomber clone which is basicall a 4000Wish rear motor single speed ebike. It's really more motorcycle the bike.

The bikes will renter the story later on.

I was in a crazy rush Friday and didn't get pictures on the way in. Too bad, I mounted Christmas lights to my roof rack to make camp easier to find and they looked pretty cool if I do say so myself.

A quick note on camp, Justsendit found a greats spot. It's farther than we went last year and we basically had the place to ourselves. It's a lot sandier this far down the tracks and 2WD = stuck, but I think it was worth it and hope we can find it again next year. Also, being the weekend after the Thanksgiving holiday really reduced the traffic and dust.

Saturday we got things going with strong, hot coffee and whipped up bacon, spuds, and eggs. We finally got ourselves together to head out and satisfy TheTim's lifelong dream of seeing the trestle. Here we are about to depart camp.

TheTrestle for TheTim! We finally made it here. My son was riding his friend's dirt bike while his friend rode is new Talaria eDirtbike and they were a bit behind but caught up.

From here we headed farther east to check out the Tank. We ended up skipping that due to some work activity down the road leading to it. On the way there the Talaria's battery died. It was only at 65% when it left camp and the thick sand was sucking down the electrons. We put it on my rack and I took it from there. An aside, with new tech you really have to "do" to learn. Lesson here is not just leaving with a full battery but also setting the machine up properly for the conditions which in this case was a lot of fluffy sand on the road. Ultimately it would need the upgraded battery but also sand tires to give one hours of riding time.

We then moved onto the swing set. I didn't even know this was here but it's a swing set and cabana in the desert. Pretty cool! Thanks to Corey for taking us there. We had lunch and then made our way back to camp.

Once we got back we got our tables and headed across the tracks to liberate some bullets from their shells. I want to give a massive thanks to all the dads who helped manage the activity and Corey for managing the range. We were safe, organized, and I think the kids learned a lot. I know mine did. My youngest even got to shoot the 22 rifle for the first time and was hitting a can with helping to hold the weight of the gun. Garrett (below), got to work with Sam and was just stoked.

Getting this table set up...
