Bay Area Cruiser Mechanics

Guys,

I've searched and not found much information on good cruiser mechanics in the SF Bay area. The dealers here are $100+ an hour; on the other hand paying less to someone incompetent is really foolish. I wouldn't mind paying if I could be guaranteed an 'ace' mechanic. Any help? (especially in the south bay)

I don't know about the South Bay, but if you don't mind heading up to Sonoma, I definitely recommend Gary Kardum of Mudrak Custom Cruisers (<www.mudrak.com>). Gary's top notch and will go the extra mile. Prices are reasonable for that area and you're paying a Cruiserhead mechanic to work on your rig, not a dealer mechanic that may never have done much work on a Land Cruiser.

I've been burned by my share of "Cruiser shops", but I stand by Mudrak. One of the FEW places that I'd let touch my Land Cruiser without hesitation.

I'll second the nomination for Mudrak. I'm in San Jose, and granted, it's inconvenient to make the trip up to Sonoma, but worth it.
Another alternative in the southbay is Ron Diaz at http://www.customcruiserfj40.com/. He is more suited to customizing rather than engine work. but is another option closer to the southbay.

Thanks guys. Sonoma is a real drive but I've had some recent very expensive mistakes made and don't want them repeated. If I had a place to do it, I would do the work myself!

How about in Solano County? Are there any Cruiser Mechanics around the Solano County?

Just go to Mudrak (Gary Kardum). He will do things correctly and his prices are not out of line. He is also personable and just a good all-around guy. He can work on my Cruisers anytime.
