With the lockdown in place, I haven’t used my 200 in over 2 weeks. It’s inside my garage and don’t really like driving it around just to charge the battery. Does anyone use a battery tender to keep the battery maintained? If so, what brand/model would you recommend? Thanks.

I have used the Battery Tender brand for past 18 years. I have 2 of 1.25Amp 12V models. I keep motorcycle plugged in 24x7 365. The other I use on my wife's car if it has to sit for long periods. I also have 4 bank that I use on my boat (start battery and 2 trolling batteries). None of them have gone bad and they work for all battery types that I have.

I use the small Optima Digital 400 tender for my AGM, needed about once a quarter in concert with a diode at the alternator fuse.

I have two of these to maintain my Travel Trailer batteries during the winter. I also have the “junior” version for our MB that has an AGM. All work well for their intended purpose.

Wonder if the Battery Tender Junior version will be sufficient for the large AGM (Panasonic) battery on our LCs.

The AGM battery on our MB is a huge, weighs ~60 lbs. It’s my wife’s old car that the kids drive now, it’s parked outside and when it gets below -10F in addition to the block, transmission pan, and battery heaters I connect the Junior tender. The junior works just fine in those fairly extreme conditions.

I have multiple, 4 bank Battery Tenders.
9 Cars and 4 motorcycles.

All sits all year on the tenders. No issues using the same brand of Battery Tender for last 17 years. Everything starts right up. No battery degradation.

We have two, 200 series. One at home, used all the time, no need for battery tender.

We have one at the vacation house (sees 300 miles a year maximum), and sits on battery tender 11 months of the year, 0 problems.

I would recommend the battery tender brand. Served me well. Never let me down.

I use a Noco Genius 2.

It's not the cheapest float charger out there. But it has the flexibility to be used on many battery chemistries including flooded, AGM, and lithium. In 6V and 12V flavors. With de-sulfation function. Temp compensation.

My last tender lasted me 14 yrs. So I expect them the span many vehicles with it's flexibility of application.

Note that it doesn't use a standard SAE plug for an installed pigtail. There is an adapter to SAE which I have too, as a my RV and other car have SAE plugs on them.

Interesting note on the desulfation feature...thank you

Cars, zero turns, side by sides, ATV's, motorcycles and more. Tenders work well. I have 12-15 working 24/7 at any one time. Jr's ($30), and the next size ($50), both work welL. I use the bigger $50 model for auto's. Cheap is good. Many overspend with other more expensive models and fancy brands (IMHO). Search on Amazon for the Jr. Can't go wrong.

I will say I have had some fail in the last 4-5 years... Seems to be made 'cheaper' in recent history? Not the same quality as before? I don't know. But, I just replace for $30. Still, a good value.

There are or were counterfeit tenders being sold. FYI.

Another vote for CTEK! They have a great function for reconditioning batteries. I have used this on golf cart, truck, car, boats, tractors, etc.... best brand I’ve ever used.

I’ve taken batteries that other tenders couldn’t charge, and the CTEK can recondition and then charge up. And I’ve done that with big deep cycle batteries used on wake surfing boats with ease.
