My battery is flat. With two batteries is it enough to put the charger on one battery - will both receive a charge? Or should I remove both batteries and charge them individually?

My battery is flat ...

Why flat ?

I use a battery where you have to add water on purpose. I put in battery additive. Use to be called VX-6. Now it's just called motorcycle battery additive. *REALLY* helps the battery chemically charge/dis-charge where appropriate.

Batteries in parallel or isolated ? Diesel should be parallel and charger should be fine but I'm not the authority. I.E. wait for an Cruiser Head to chime in ...

Cheers,

If you have 2 12 volt batteries providing 24V standard operation, when charging in the truck I think that you can chrge both from one charger if they are equally discharged. I assume that this is your set up, and that your wiring is in good condition.

For myself, I would remove the batteries and charge individually. Safer, and a lot less likely to have a problem.

I found the battery and connections (frm the PO) on my 60 needed replacement, and Mudrak replaced the connections and put a group 27 Optima Yellow Top. This has made a noticeable difference when starting.

It seems that the batteries have charged with them in place. I think the problem has arisen since I wired the radio to one battery - I read that you shouldn't do that with a 24v system but it was intended as a quick fix. 2 months later and the batteriies are flat - the radio could be the cause. I have disconnected the radio from the battery and hope the batteries will now hold their charge.
