I made some simple box sliders for my 470. I do some moderate crawling and wanted some door protection. I also do not love tube sliders, so I decided to weld some up myself. All in around $400, and I have a couple things I still want to change. I will say that the Slee sliders were a bit of inspiration:
Anyway:
I started by 3D scanning the frame rail and getting a handful of dimensions. This is just photogrammetry with iPhone.
I did a little CAD of the frame plates and square/rectangular tubes. I measured many times to try to nail this. I talked to a local metal supplier and they do cuts for free. I decided to trust my CAD and got all of the stock cut to my final Dimensions
.
A local plasma cutter cut the plates out same day.
Mocked up the outside rail to match my measurements.
More details and photos to follow.
