Ok guys, went from jeep back to yota. I have a 2007 FJ with and auto, no a-trac or factory locker. So whats my best bet for rear traction? is it worth droping in a factory locker or go aftermarket?

ARB will be your best option IMHO.

Yes, you can add a factory locker with a switch to engage. If it didn't come off the lot with it, getting all the necessary components to make it "factory", you'll at least double the cost of the ARB...

+1, the ARB is by far the best and most economical (compared with retrofitting the factory electric locker) at that point.

Thanks for the imput, I only asked because, the fartory wiring is there, it looks like all I need is a switch and the diff to hook it up, but there lies hte question diffs seem to be hard to find and or expensive

Yes, it appears to be there but the ECU's are not "flashed" for the e-locker or ATRAC. You would have to replace 2 ECU's, get a locked axle and all the "little" stuff.

An ARB will be under $1k, just add instalation costs...

Thanks guys, Im now getting more educated, sounds like besides the ECU, I would need a new housing as well. my next question is the non-locking diff a standard 8 inch, ie the same 30 spline V6 diffs in the mini trucks? I understand the E-locker diffs to be 8.4?

While it is possible to retrofit a non-locker housing with an e-locker, I would just find a complete rear axle with e-locker.

Yes, the FJC shares the rear with the 4Rnr, Taco e-locker rear ends...

Heck, if you don't have the e-locker already, definitely go with ARB.
