Give us a Hamon date in November so we can come enclose that thing........ or should I say before meatball tries to use it at the xmas party with no enclosure

Awesome :D

I'm thinking 8'x4' with an elevated platform instead of that little pan. Enclosure would be a bit wide so you can have a place to change / store dry clothes while showering.

Can we use that wood that's in the other big barn?

Do u need any more concrete pads i dont know what to do with them. I can take the good one there if you need them.

Definitely want to have enclosed before Meatball arrives! ;)

We have our family barn party the first or second week of November so it would have to be after that.

Johnny, an 8'x4' is a little too big but I agree we need it bigger than the little pad there now. I'm thinking start at the window and go to about a foot from the corner and 4' out. We can use whatever materials we have there at the barn. The next time there is a group ride at URE, maybe we need to check everything out and come up with a plan.

Thanks Rafael! Let's see what the building committee has in mind first.
That is my A/C concrete pad I had left over from replacing my old gas pack. Good eye!

What if we bought a cheapish shower surround, framed it in, and then clad it with some of the wood around the barn that has the right aesthetics? That would make it private and hold in the heat from the hot water (I assume it's plumbed hot and cold per the pics). We could put a hinged door on it with the same cladding. Just a thought, and whoohoo!!

Yes it has hot water but only a 40 gallon. Showers may need to be staggered or put the double shower head on (that someone brought) and shower with a friend. :D
I've actually been looking at outside showers on Pinterest, at :princess:'s recommendation, for ideas. So far, nothing has jumped out out me. Even though ONSC will use it in the winter, the military will use it this time of year. Sooo, do we want it fully enclosed at the top or vented or a shutter system that can be folded down in warmer weather? :hmm: If anyone finds a good example with "the right aesthetics", like Ramon suggested and I agree with, post it up. We are just in the planning stages...

Something kinda like this, with a roof that's got open gable ends like the horton house. If it's too cold in the winter we can staple some plastic up there to keep the heat in.

That's sorta what I have in mind Johnny. We could do a leaning tin roof, since we have tin to match there, and I believe we might be able to go 6' wide to give us a bench seat and place to hang towels/clothes. I'm thinking out loud here but would like everyone's feedback.

You should build it on the other side of the window, to enclose the stove pipe to keep the space and pipes warm..

Too late. We had to put it with easy access to the lines going to the kitchen faucet. My thinking, correct me if I'm wrong, is to have a shower area that doesn't distract but enhances the barn but blends in with what we have accomplished the last 20 years. Not too big but functional. Something that seems like it fits in that location. Honestly, I will never use it but I want more spouses too come and I believe this will help with that purpose. Maybe we need input from the female members... and Adam for recommendations :).

I think most members (especially women) will likely NOT use the shower, and are more afraid of the Horton house than anything....but I could be wrong.

just sayin.......I think out houses are cool....I just don't like the flavor in the air in there on a sunday morning

I think most girls appreciate the barn for many reasons and the Horton House is better than a log in the woods and smells better than group camp.

We are very lucky to have such a comfortable place to enjoy with or without a shower. The most recent improvements in the kitchen did not go unnoticed... I can go on forever.

As a club we are very lucky.

Comparison to Greg's family farm the barn rocks.
