I am almost content to leave this hanging in my garage as wall art but I have my eye on something else. This is a NOS Bandeirante tailgate. Asking 1000.

Is it a direct fit on an FJ40?

The hing bolt pattern is different and you will need to figure out the latch but it fits nicely on the 40. If you do a search in the 40 section you can find photos of a 40 with one installed.

My only advice is to measure. I bought mine thinking it was direct fit. Shop had to cut both sides (Bandi gate was too wide) to make it work.

I had run hardtop and ambi doors prior, so my tub was straight/square.

Not sure the deal...maybe there are different styles/widths of the Bandi gates?
