Projects always take more than expected ... more effort, more money, more time.

Some damn-fine Folks been helpin' me do a butt-load of weldin' on the ol' trailer. Lotta cypherin', lotta steel.

She's now got a 12,500 lb leaf-spring suspension.

Wicked-ass cool HEAVY-DUTY gratin' in the center section.

All braces/supports in place to add the 2" x 8" rough-cut oak planks on the four corners with "fenders" over the tires.

All the holes for the lights and wirin' are done, D-rings finished out, and ramp supports on the ass-end.

New pintle hook, tongue jack, and safety chains.

Sorry but I forgot, what do you need this trailer for?

is it for the generator?

thanks for the reminder.

This trailer is kind of small for all that junk your bringing to Texas.

I'll keep an eye on this story. It's going to be interesting.

I guess the challenge will be in how to fit everything on the trailer.

Trailer's been sittin' in the Company's yard facility in Baltimore for many months but I've never got to see it since it got back from the shipyard. :crybaby:

So I snuck in there for a look-see on my way up the coast to Boston and snapped some pics this mornin'.

Bad grey, rainy day for pics ... but it still looks better than it did. :grinpimp:

The shipyard hung the thang from the pintle hook, sandblasted the entire deal, and painted it with some marine boat hull paint they had layin' 'round. Ended up bein' sorta charcoal grey. I like it.

I'll be workin' in Baltimore again this winter so hope to finish up the wood deck and lights and haul all the Bounty to The 3X's.

Think that there little Heep thang will pull it?

No way. :grinpimp:

In fact ... I'm worried that The Trusty Ol' Comp'ny Truck will pull the damn thang.

Thinkin' on runnin' Lil' Pete up to yank 'er home in style.

Daryl may end up doing some more welding on it!

Nope ... weldin's all done. :flipoff2:

It has been a brutal Spring here in Baltimore ... cold and rainy. But we finally got a beautiful day so it was time to go to work. Had the Fellas in the Yard pressure wash the trailer for me (the 'mountain' in the background of the photo is a coal pile so everything here ends up coated in coal dust).

Didn't realize what a nice paint job is on the damn thang 'till it was clean.

Got the lights mounted today and made some headway on runnin' the wires. Slapped some of the DOT tape on too.

Hope to wrap up all the electrical and start on the deck within the next couple of days.

Another damn-fine day here ... got some serious progress as a result.

All the wirin' is in place and tested so now my man is goin' back and solderin' all the connections and puttin' heat shrink tubing on 'em. Slow go but the goal is to have this thang be trouble-free for years ... plus he gets paid by the hour. :grinpimp:

This trailer is truly American Union made ... sure glad I ain't payin' the labor bill on this one.
