Well ... done got it to our yard facility in Baltimore.

3 hour drive to get there.

2 hours tryin' to screw the jack up off the ground and get a few lights workin' a lil' bit maybe ev'ry once-in-awhile. :grinpimp:

Wirin' on the trailer was interestin' and the runnin' light connection on the truck didn't work. Me and my CoonAss friend had a large time and I'm sure the NJ gentleman we bought it from won't soon forget the ordeal.

3 1/2 hours to drive back. Hard to believe the rotten tires made the trip.

We'll start tearin' into it tomorrow and see what we got.

Yanked it up with the cherry picker ... computer said 3500 lb. :D

Bearings feel great ... oil level in axle good and clean ... split rim wheels.

Tilt bed ... but unsprung axle.

Lugs are pretty rusty so we got 'em soakin' now.

Need 4 tires.

Cargo weight:

Kubota is 1800 lb. (actual)

Anchor is 1400 lb. (actual)

Generator is 2000 lb. (estimated)

Holla if you come through town on the way home. I'd like to see this get-up. We'll drink a beer.

Later,

I'll be North of ya on I-40 Brother. :frown:

Maybe a beer with the Boys in TN though.

So the trailer was 6 hun'erd ... 10 bucks in tolls on way home ... $610 total.

Just dropped $350 for a new tongue jack, 12 weld-on d-rings, and a complete commercial trailer wiring/light/reflector kit ... $960 total.

Buddy at the local shipyard's gonna sandblast and paint it ... total still $960. :grinpimp:

Shoppin' tire prices now.

:flamingo:

Can you pick something up in Tenn for me?

Thanks Fellas ... I'll post up when I leave.

While the yard crew was strippin' down the trailer ... I eased on down to the boat marina to work on the generator. :D

Dredge electrician put a megger on the gen and she went straight to ground. Said it was lil' dirty in places that was suppossed to be clean. :frown:

Told my CoonAss to break 'er off the engine ... while I drank beer and took pics. :grinpimp:

We couldn't find much for tools layin' 'round. Found a metric wrench that was fairly close and beat on it with a pipe wrench to loosen 'em up. :hillbilly:

Despite the lack of even the most basic tools ... my CoonAss done got the job done. Perhaps him bein' a mechanic for 'bout 20 years helped some.

Got my Buddy that give the damn thang to me to fetch the marina's forklift so we could set 'er in the back of the Trusty Ol' Comp'ny Truck.

Wouldn't quite clear the tailgate and the camper ...

Now all is good. :grinpimp:

Gonna take 'er to my Buddy that has a local electrical repair shop for a complement'ry shake and bake.

No rest for the weary ... and still no tools.

Torch worked just fine to get them bolts out to free up the lil' trailer for the generator.

Scored me another major freebie today also.

It's a "hospital zone" muffler to slap on the generator ... so it don't sound like Doc's. :grinpimp:

Ask Clutchee!

All you need is a 2" ball on the back of the yeller trailer and your set!

Yeller trailer ain't got no springs Brother ... she tends to hop 'round just a bit. The thought of havin' another trailer behind that is nothin' short of friggin' terrifyin'. I'll consider myself damn lucky if'n I actu'lly get this dog and pony show to The 3X's.

:flamingo:

Not too much progress today ... actual work got in the way. Damn.

Yard crew did get some torch work done. Good to see that tongue jack burned off there. My poor CoonAss 'bout dropped a nut tryin' to crank that thang high enuff for us to tow the trailer back to Baltimore.

Outside tires are off ... inside lugs are soakin' now.

New tires are $120 each ... mounted.

Tilt bed with unsprung axle centered on the trailer ain't gonna make for a pleasent trip home ...

Dropped 5 hun'erd today to get a suspension for 'er ... springs, hangers, u-bolts. Gonna have the yard crew weld the deck to the tongue and cut the axle loose from it. Shift the axle back and mount on suspension. Rig a vertical plate with adjustment holes for the pintle loop so can pull behind a pick-up or Lil' Pete.

If'n any of y'all remember the tank of a single-car trailer I got at the house ... she's now for sale for $1500. :D

Damn beautiful day today in Baltimore ...

Yard crew hit trailer purdy hard with the torch. They was still burnin' when I left, so'll have to get some pics tomorrow.

The first pic shows the back channel. It's purdy beat up since it was a tilt bed. Gotta new hunk of channel to replace it.

Second pic shows how the tongue goes straight into the axle to form the pivot point for the original tilt bed and how the axle is directly bolted to the frame.
