My power steering pump needs to be replaced in my 2001 and the quote I got today seems a bit high. I believe the part is around $200, but I have no idea what's involved with the labor. The quote I got was $600.

Has anyone had the work done recently that would mind sharing what was paid?

Thanks!

If that's worth $400 to you, I'd say its money well spent. If not, DIY or shop around.

What are your symptoms? Is it just leaking?

Most likely just need to clean the reservoir and properly flush the system with ATF. Sometimes the hoses on the outlet and returns will be leaking and could use replacement.

It's a loud whine/scretch. It's been flushed with ATF. I trust the diagnosis for replacement, I'm just not sure on the level of effort for the labor.
