meet at the cabin friday night with the local boyscout troop. they sleep outside and "adults" sleep in. boy scouts make us breakfast and we all take a couple of them with us (optional) and run bald mtn.

if ya dont want to sleep in cabin (or camp if ya want) then show up sat am 830

will be fun. scout cooking can taste like s*** so be prepared. in 2008 the boyscouts made us omlets that they planned themselves. mine had hamburger and ham in it. nasty

right now i have 3 other rigs going besides me. basicaly the same crew that ran last year. i may bring the H1 to wheel instead of the 80---i can carry more people-a lot more. only problem right now is that the h1 wont fit on my trailer
 
French toast was good last year! Drive the hummer!... I got my parts today need to talk Tommy into going have to trail test my rig befor snt
 
How is Bald? Can I do it in a stock (Really stock, no lift, & factory tires, no locker) Tacoma? If so I might be able to re-arrange my camping/fishing trip to Balch Park w/my boys.
 
Yea Jimmy you can run it .... There's areas (obsticals) along the main trail....

Yep last year i talked one of the dads into Bringing his bone stock tacoma up the bald and he did fine. Same guy is bringing the same tacoma this year and is letting his son take up the family durango. Going to be fun

You cant take the hard lines but you will still have fun

Once i warched a 2wd ranger go the top. A little tricky...
 
I did it with my FJ Cruiser no problem, but I woldn't suggest doing the entire loop. If I make this trip, I'll head back the same way we go in.
 
Not for me, but for a stock truck (no lockers, no skids, no longer travel). It was easy enough but since you have to stack the rocks for me, what do I care?
 
A few years ago at Moonlight Madness there was a 2wd Nissan pickup hanging out around vrock...it can be done.
 
I think every time you have one of these events, I end up having to work, and that's the case with this Saturday. :frown:

===Waiting till team pictures are over
===Fire up rig w/trailer in tow
===Barf bags within reach
===break up fight 40 min into trip
===2 1/2 hr + up the moutain
===Stopped by Johnny Law-trailer tail light out
===Set up camp, and 2 beers
===Late afternoon fishing w/ ma boys
===Break up one more fight
===Make dinner dad style
===Teach boys how to cook hot dogs over fire
===(It's all fun and games until someone burns a weanee)
===Very rough nights sleep
===Wake up before dawn--boys gotta fish!
===Pop Tarts and Choc milk
===Fight to get teeth brushed
===Off to fish
===Change fishing spots at least 5-6 times
===Break up fight over tangeled lines
===Tell boys not to yell and stomp where we are fishing
===Break up fight over some junk tackle found on the ground
===Got boys set up to fish by themselves, right next to camp, while I break down camp,
===and they really start to catch the trout.
===Stop packing camp stuff, to rebait rods etc.
===Finish packing gear
===Stop to rebait, and cast out-return to truck
===Move truck to "Day use area" cause it's getting past check out time
===Help boys with another fish
===Change locations 2 more times
===Boys off catching Grasshoppers
===Dad catches one trout w/a grasshopper & not power bait
=== Boys loosing intrest
===Dad breaks out snacks & motion sickness chewables
===Packup the last of the stuff and start home
===Very quiet ride home
===Call wife at 1hr out, and request pizza delivery
===Pull up in driveway with my boys (just waking up), 10 good size trout, and wife has hot pizza

===Check answering mach. and they(work) want me to come in for OT

some dudes rolled a mini hard at that real long steep slab on the backside of the spot where casey broke his driveshaft. the exo and cab were bent until so hard the exo was on the steering wheel. they walked away. too much etoh was the cause. luckily it took just one huge roll and didn't roll all the way to the bottom. they would have been dead

scary. the boyscouts will not drink and drive for a while
 
Damn I missed it! Did you pretend you were not a doctor so they couldn't sue you later? I can't remeber if CA law keeps docs from being sued for helping a victim, but since CA sucks, they probably can sue you for saving thier lives by doing CPR and breaking a rib.

I need some motivation to get my axle turned to the pinion. Got plans sunday? You have to play the good daddy for the birthday party, but I bet Dawn would let you come over for 3 hours to help me do the axle.

we will see. i will have to read the situation. i wish i was a jedi and i would say..."hey baby im going to dans house to wrench while you watch the 4 kids and you will be happy with it ok"

and she would reply
"sure big daddy that would be great. hurry and get Dans jeep running so you two can drive up to bald mtn and wheel the whole weekend away"


the best way for me to help u is for me to pretend im going to the store to get milk and stuff and then go to your house for a brief time
