been toying with the idea to go down to Baja over the Christmas / NY season. Not a sure thing yet.

Thinking about the East Coast, not too much farther than Bahia de LA or thereabouts, at the most B. Concepcion. A couple of weeks.

Any interest in some sort of joint venture, if only part of the time?

dang, we're starting to read all these nasty stories now...

Yea seems like there are always murders or kidnappings just before you want to go.

What nasty stories are you refering to?

several stories recently about murders of tourists out in the boonies, apparently to steal the vehicles...
that's pretty recent, it seems. Don't remember anything like that some years back.

There were some stories before I went too.

A lady named Raquel who owned a hotel with her husband were shot at down there. She was killed.

Another is the story of a man who was driving at 3am on the toll road near Rosarito, some thugs tried to stop him and started shooting, he was hit in the leg and made it back over.

There are millions of stories like this from the US as well.

I was a little nervous about that but when you figure, there are many more incidents here than there...

You just need to be aware, safety in numbers, don't drive at night.

You will be fine. It was just my girlfriend and I and we had no problems.

Hope you don't let all of the horror stories stop you.

You will stop going out of your house! :D

nope, no problem going out of the house here.

It's true that there are probably many stories like that in the US. I didn't hear about that sort of stuff in Baja before, though. And it would be stupid not to pay attention and not to avoid potentially serious situations. I guess it isn't getting better down there.

Man, if the US tourists would stop going down altogether, the whole Baja states would shriek to a halt...

I will most likely go to Baja, I will be there from 12/24 to 01/01, will be driving from San Luis Rio Colorado to Mexicali, down to San felipe, Puertecitos to Bahia Gonzaga and Coco's Corner, then down to Bahia de los Angeles, hope to see you there!:D

Here are some pictures of the area by Puertecitos.
