While driving through some high winds, I could see (and hear) the top of my drivers side door frame actually opening slighty under the gusts. Enough that when I rolled down the window to adjust my mirror I couldn't roll it back up.

Could this be fixed by something as simple as replacing the weatherstripping? It doesn't look terribly worn but, it is Drivers door and 16 years old..

Thanks,

How much corrosion is there around the hinge and rest of the door? This does not sound right at all, nor like something that weatherstrip is going to remedy. When you open the door, is there any play in it up and down?

??? ??? ???

No corrosion at all and no play in the door hinge. The door closes solid and tight but, if I press against the top of the glass I can get about 1/4" of bend out of the top of the frame. Enough to hear the wind blow while driving.

I haven't ever seen anything like it. I may try to replace the weatherstripping to see if it tightens up the seal.
