Went back and forth with Mud member @Oho77 regarding front dash control screen for LX470. He seemed to have history he on Mud. Long story short, we a greed on a fair price including the shipping(a small package) and I sent him the money.
Next day he reached out and tells me in order to get it shipped with FedEx I'll need to send another $100.
It shouldnt cost more than $45 dollars to ship from Houston to Boston, and so instead I offered to send him a prepaid return shipping label from my work. Just print it and tape it one the box. Then Bring to UPS. Done.
He stopped responding after he agreed to receive the label and send on my dime. No answer to my calls like before, no response to my texts, nothing.
I disputed the transaction and should be getting my money back.
Beware. @Och077 is a scammer.
Tell us more about how you communicated with him, all the details, who made contact and how.... there have been people scammed on the forum accusing well known and established members of doing the scamming and it turns out they got played by someone posing as the member. Here is a recent example:

Before we get the pitchforks out and start hunting witches, lets hear more details.....

Is it @Oho77, @Ocho77, or @Och077 ?

I have seen it written three different ways in this one thread.

High likelihood you got scammed because you posted your personal cell. Happens all the time. I know @Ocho77 personally, absolutely 0% he’d scam anyone, he’s legit lol

Also “Next day he reached out and tells me in order to get it shipped with FedEx I'll need to send another $100.” is a dead giveaway

How did you originally pay him?

I always select Merchant on PayPal or Venmo. I will pay the few extra % to avoid being scammed and getting my money back.

You were scammed, Ocho does not live in Texas. I know the guy personally, please delete this thread once you realize you're wrong.

Good morning. I'm not surprised this thread took off.
First and foremost, I thin of myself as an upstanding mud member, and YES, far too trusting with my telephone #. And secondly, I knew right away I got scammed and the likelihood that it was actually the mud member I brought into question was probably the guise for the seller.
I sell a ton of parts for a living and on here as well as very frequently buy from various members with little contact during the whole process.
I knew instantly I was had and meant to put up this post earlier.
Additionally, I should have reached out in a private message to the clearly very responsive @Ocho77 and confirmed he was actually the person selling me the part I wanted to buy.
I do understand this is mostly all my fault, and I certainly didn't mean to drag Ocho's name through the"mud"

Happy Friday everyone. Do your homework on your purchases.
VERY SORRY to get anyone stirred up. But we are a protective bunch.
Anywho. I just bout an injured pig I'm bringing back to life. Maybe I'll start a thread on it today. It might move this afternoon.

This is the correct course of action.

Yeah yeah. I wanted to post a response that can be read by those of you who contributed, first.
I'll delete it shortly. Deal?
I won't scam you ;)

Thanks, brother!

Sorry for the crappy loss of money. I too, often get comfortable with people on Mud and sometimes don't perform due diligence. Some people suck.

Either way, appreciate the follow-up.

will delete now that everyone is sufficiently updated.
