What will having a bad PCV caused a 93 landcruiser to go wrong. I think I have the original PCV on my truck & I has over a 240,000. Also how hard is it to changeout the PCV valve.

Here is a thread where Doug describes some tips on changing the PCV.

At 240k miles you should go ahead and replace the PCV regardless of symptoms. Only use OEM and get the valve cover grommet at the same time. Some of the aftermarket PCV's are slightly larger and you will spit hoses and have a hard time getting it in the grommet. Save yourself some hassle.

I think you could get a rich fuel mixture.
Replace the valve ,you should,at some time, remove the throttle body and intake chamber. Clean them up with throttle body or carb cleaner. You might need 4 or more cans to clean out all the carbon from the EGR port.
THere are some other things to do when you remove and clean the throttle body, just ask when you get around to doing it.

Put the new pcv valve on this weekend. I must say it was pretty easy to install. The truck seam to drive a lot better now & we will see about the oil burming issue. Thanks again for all the infor.
