Last week I received a 0155 code, but have not had a chance to change my o2 sensor. Here is the question I have put a tank and a half through (with the bad o2) and I’m getting 2 MPG better than average? If I replace the sensor will my truck drop back down to the old MPG before the sensor started to act up? I drive the same route everyday so there are no other variables. Is driving with a bad o2 going to hurt anything?

Are you certain it wasn't a change to winter fuel mix in your area?

I just changed my O2's (DS/PS) and my 100 is running better across the board. More efficient and more spunky acceleration. Quite noticeable on the highway.

lexi's changes make sense, as did mine, new O2's so computer knows fuel/O2 mixture and adjust so it burns effecient and cleaner.

I can't figure out why it would run better with a bad O2 sensor? did you change tire size, have a hole upstream in manifold or Cat? remove seats, drive with your leg crossed......something had to have changed or it's simply a fluke.

bottom line O2 sensors should increase efficiency. maybe change it and see if it goes up or down?

I'm located in San Antonio so i don't believe the fuel is the culprit

You get different fuel down there too. My old FJ60 used to hate the summer fuel !!!

I was always relieved when we got the "Winter" blend as that carb (and all the emission control junk) was much happier on that blend. Night and day.

Not saying that is "the" explanation, but you can't rule it out.

Did you disconnect the battery for a bit to reset the ECU? Most people try that so the ECU can "re-learn" any new equipment:meh:
