:censor:  and I'm looking for advice on what direction to take next. It's a 1984 FJ60 no rust to speak of and clean interior. Drive train other than engine itself seems ok.

Cylinder for piston 3 is scored vertically and the block has been bored out in the past to at least half a mil. The head above cylinder 3 is scorched and looks like what a spark plug looks like from pre-detination (#3 piston has a hole in it from the same cause). The head above #2 has chips missing from around it's edge that looks like somebody was banging it to seat the valves at some point. Both block and head have been rebuilt before.

What do you think my options are and at what approximate cost?
I would like to keep the beast, but can't afford to spend a fortune on it.

Thoughts and comments from all are welcome.

Ron

used engine from MAF or someone like that

Ideal candidate for a used 2F. Try Cruiserparts.net.

For sure, that's what I would do...

Onother one for Cruiserparts.net. Good people to deal with, I'm sure they would be able to help you out for sure. Good luck!

Looks like I've got consensus here. Buy a rebuilt from Cruiserparts. Anyone else have something to say good or bad about that option?

Today's looking brighter for sure!

Used 2F engine. With all the engine conversions going on, should be an easy find, but maybe not a quick find. Used 2F's are hard to get rid of, so should be cheap if you aren't in a hurry.

ok, that's who I meant

Cruiserparts.net quoted me $800+ 300 shipping- total $1100 (2F long block)
