my body is junk (the tub is rusted out) so i cut it off at the floorboard and am going to build all tube rear end based roughly on the design of the factory tub. i am looking for ideas that maybe some of you have done in the past. i am linking it front and rear with coilovers, considering rear steer, but that if in the future if it happens. anyone have pictures? i just downloaded bend tech 3-D to help me design it, but if anyone has an idea or pics i would appreciate any advice

i ordered my Sway Away coil-overs, ballistic joints and inserts yesterday, once i get the dana 60 and 14 bolt mocked up I will have a better idea of the bed/cage i want to build. I have a good idea of what i want, but until i have an idea of where I want my axles I cant really start building. I am stretching it at least 14 inches, i have a lot of thinking to do on this one!

Front suspension is stock FJ40 leaf springs on top of axles, shackles reversed, and springs flipped to extend wheelbase. Springs were also outboarded to clear diff on full width axle.

glad someone resurrected this thread, i kinda forgot about it. i have been a little busy and not updated this thread since i got started. i got started 2 months ago on this build, cut the frame just at the drivers seat and tubed out the rear, then cut the frame about 12" from the radiator and tubed the front out too. 4 link in the rear and a 3 link up front. Dana 60 and 14 bolt, respectively. Chevy 4.3l, 700r4 trans, 241/D300 t cases. Right now i am going to run on a set of 38.5 TSL SX tires and hummer wheels re-centered. worked on the body today to clear the new frame. here are some pictures.

got the body panels set on that i am going to use. they are going to be painted a burnt orange color. if you look on the PSC website there is a picture of an fj in their scroll of rides. i am doing a very similar color.
