Poking around here it seems like ham has a little bit of a following, so I figured the information might be of interest to a few. Cross-posting this event from the main thread over on AZFJ =)
Well it's been a while, and it's about time to get a fresh batch of hams licensed up. With no Sedonafest last year and no other ham events, it's long overdue.
Who: Open to anyone who can get out there. Passengers/friends/family/whoever welcome!
What: Wheeling and ham testing for anyone wanting to get their technician license. (Currently no upgrades (general/extra) but that could change if there's demand and we can get a couple other VE's signed on.)
When: Saturday, March 1st. 09:00 meetup time. 50 days... get studying!
Where: Hassayampa River Box Canyon - Easy 2.0 rated trail - Meetup spot TBD
What to Bring: If you're taking the test, you'll need to bring...
Identification
$15 test fee
Lunch/snacks/drinks/cigars
Now is a good time to borrow that study guide or pick up a used one since the test pool for the Technician exam is going to change in a few months. (June 1st to be precise.)
An easy run, with plenty of time at the mid stop for testing, lunch, cigars, shooting the breeze, etc. If you've been waiting, now's the time =)
I'll do my best to keep this thread updated as details develop and the date gets closer, but the absolute latest info will be at the source thread here.
