Long time lurker, first time poster.

I just bought a 1980 HJ45 pickup that has been in the US for about 6 years now, but originally came from Costa Rica. It no longer has the H engine but rather the B diesel, and the cab is not the under-cab fuel tank style which makes it incorrect for a 1980. I'm beginning to think this truck was kind of a bastard child of different 40 series parts from whatever was laying around. Which brings me to my current problem...

It has AVM aftermarket hubs on it, and I can't figure out how to remove them. I've watched literally a dozen youtube videos on how to disassemble these front axles, but these AVM's appear to have some different pieces on them.

Here's what they looked like before I tore into them.

Here's a better shot of the selector body.

This is the piece I can't get off. That collar thingy slides back and forth on the shaft about 3/8", but it won't slide all the way off (yes I've removed the snap ring at the end of the shaft). And with that collar in the way I can't get to the big 54mm hub nut behind it. HOW DO I GET THIS THING OFF??

I'm already planning on buying some new Aisin hubs to return the truck to stock, so if I have to destroy these to get them off that's ok with me. Any help on how to get these hubs off is appreciated.

You try putting a puller on it?

That’s my guess

It's catching on the splines as it tries to pass the snap ring groove. Put a puller on it.

You guys were right as usual. The splines on the outside edge of the snap ring groove were mashed up. A bit of prying and swearing got it off. Thanks to those who chimed in.
