Does anyone know the average $ total you could get from parting out your cruiser??

that's pretty vague........so i'd say $1-20000

All depends on what you got.

I usually have better luck getting more $$ parting one out than trying to sell them whole.

If you have lots of good quality aftermarket stuff in good shape & price it fair..you should come out ok. On stock stuff, all depends on who needs it & how bad they need it, as to what they will pay.

Good luck.

Thanks for answering my question. I have an 81 FJ60 that I am trying to sell for $3000 and I am debating whether to part it out or if that would be a bad idea in the end because then I might have a half parted out rig sitting in the garage and no where for the rest of it to go.

What would be a fair price on a 3in. OME medium duty lift used? 33in BFG mud tires with 50% tread on black steel 15x8? 2FEngine with 229K miles which would need rebuilt as well as tranny 4 spd.? I do not know if there is a thread on here with a good price list of a 60 with lots of parts that I might be able to mimick?

Again, it all depends on cond and mileage. All the things you've mentioned above will be limited because of difficulty shipping. The motor / Tranny ? $100 each. Maybe. And only as cores. Wheels and tires will prolly go locally if in good shape. Have to know the local market.

You'll do best on the small parts that are easy to ship.

And when you're done you will have a skeleton left in the yard... Unless someone needs a body or frame, again, depending on amount of rust.

What's the condition of the interior? Carpet? Dog-pee on everything? Good Luck!

BUT WHAT'S THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO ???? KEEP IT RUNNING AND DRIVE IT ! Where else are you gonna get (for $3K) that kind of Macho, testosterone-filled, testicle-draggin' 4WD ??

I think you are looking at doing the wrong model Cruiser at the wrong time. There are too many people parting 60s out right now. Look in the parting section. Little stuff like switches, handles, window regulators go fast. Seats can sit for ages or they can decay in the dump. Doors are heavy and a PITA to ship. I've never sold a hood. The only way I've felt like I've really come out OK is that I parted them to get parts I needed. It takes a lot of time to take it apart, sell it, package it, and ship it.

parting a fj60

It's not worth you time to part a fj60 at this time.
If it's not wrecked and it's running sell it whole or keep it.
I parted out a very totaled fj62 for part to fix my less totalled fj62 and sold what i didn't need. You end up sitting on a lot of parts you don't have a use for and a shell in your yard or garage. Shippine a fj60 fender or lift gate is a pain in the butt. Now if you where parting out a fj40 fj55 you would have not problems selling your parts. But they don't sell for as mutch as they once did. Just my two cents.

good luck with your sale.

I appreciate all the great advice and I will avoid parting it out at this point in time....thanks.
