So I have a peculiar issue with my 99 land cruiser. My auxillary fan won't turn off even hours after the car is off. Along with this, when the climate control is on with the car running, the ac wont turn off no matter the setting. Is there some type of temp sensor that could cause both things? Just started happening today. I did unplug the fan to not kill the battery. Any advice appreciated. Jimmy. Edit....disregard ac part. Apparantly we weren't pushing the button hard enough...although both my wife and I tried at least 5 times earlier.

Ok - after much internet sleuthing, it is my AC condenser fan. (So I am assuming the AC is able to turn off now because I unplugged the fan) Anyone know why this would keep running after the Cruiser is off?

Have you done the climate control system self check ?

The A/C panel can do a self diagnosis. DI-620

1. Turn ignition switch to on while holding down the A/C and Recirc/Fresh switches.
2. All the indicators should flash on and off at 1 second intervals.
3. Any malfunction will be indicated by the trouble area's light blinking. A table to translate the lights to a trouble spot is on DI-624 or post it here and I'll look it up.

Then maybe check the blower relay as discussed in the thread?

Thanks staggrlee,

I was just posting an update for some possible culprits and I will definitely try your advice. I found a TSB for Lexus LX470s - saying the relay connector can corrode - (A/C CONDENSER FAN CONTINUES TO RUN AFTER THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF DUE TO CORROSION IN THE RELAY CONNECTOR
Service Bulletin : AC00200 - AUG 11, 2000 NHTSA Item Number: 615956
Component: EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL:AIR CONDITIONER). I spoke with the toyota dealer and they confirmed that the LC and LX470 used the same parts for that and there is a repair kit. So it does sound like the relay but I will try the diagnostics first.

The DI-624 table is linked there but without a decoder ring for what all the indicators called so it can be confusing. Sounds like you're on the right track with the TSB though.

I too have this condition. I ordered a relay, but need the electrical connector. Any ideas? I called the local Toyota dealer and they said they have no listing for the connector. I'm considering getting a different relay, one that I could get WITH a connector to just replace this. Though, I have to say, the original held up for 215k miles, but without a replacement harness, I've got issues.

I appreciate any help with this!

Open the defective relay. It sould be condensation triggering the relay. Someone might have washed the engine bay with a pressure washer. Allow it to dry. Also cleann the contact point inside the relay with a soft grit paper, and put all back together. I never had a toyota relay going bad. Once had condensation triggering the horn. Just cleaned it!

My rear heat wasn't working, Ryan from otramm digged into the panel and found the relay went south, so new toyota relay fixed the issue, not sure if it's related to your issue

My relay is definitely junk. I desperately need the relay connector, or go to a different relay and connector. Nobody washed the engine bay with a pressure washer. The relay is falling apart. But I honestly appreciate all the ideas. It's the connector I need, not the relay at this point.

I have same issue on my 99' UZJ100, The A/C Condenser fan will not turn off when the engine is shut off. What is the part number for the condenser relay?

Did you ever figure this out?
