I was wondering if there is an auxilery cable hookup in the back of the head unit on a 2001 model. I was hoping ro hook my Ipod up to it.

This has been discussed before and a link was given for a harness adaptor for that purpose IF you are not running a 6 disc changer in the rear.

Do a search under ipod and it should come up.

I finally installed one of these in my '99 last week. It took about 5 mins. and works great!!!! I don't have the IPod, I have the Dell Jukebox 20 GB. And it's awesome to have all that music available to me in the cruiser. However, there is one drawback. There's so much to choose from it takes a long time to find what you want to listen to. I guess, I should take some time to make some playlists. I've got about 15.6 GB on mine (>3500 songs).

98LX which one did you get, the Monster Cable or the PIE one off the Logjam website. How did you remove the stereo? Thanks

I am wondering if both set-ups are compatible with the LX Nakamichi stereo. They both only list the Toyota as compatible and but no mention of Lexus.

Hmm, looks like a good cheap alternative but it won't have the sound quality of the other two. I think I am going to go with the iCruze since I think I can get one at a discount. Retail price is way too much.

I bought the PIE. The sound is very good. If I get some time this weekend, I'm going to mount a phono jack in the blank in front of the shifter. BTW, when we take long trips with the kids we usually prop my laptop between the front seats so the kids can watch DVD's. However they only used to listen to the sound froom the laptop which wasn't very good. Now we can plug the sound from the laptop to the stereo.

Pulling the stereo is very easy. Just pry a little at a time aroun the entire bezel that has the climate controls and stereo shroud. There 4 clips, use a flathead screwdriver and go a little at a time so as not to break anything. Once the bezel is off, there's 4 screws holding the head in.

If I have more time, I'll pull the head on the wifes LX and see if the plug matches.
