I would be reluctant to have a real-time connection between the trailer fuel tank and the truck that transfers fuel while running. It might be wise to consider an ignition protected fuel transfer pump and a hose (either a coupler or transfer into the truck fuel pipe). This way you can simply stop, connect the hose into the truck tank, and refill at the flip of a switch.

Having fuel pumped from the trailer while driving is an invitation to trouble -- in the event of a tralier roll over or disconnect, will the pump automatically sense that the hose is disconnected? How will the pump know when the truck fuel tank is full? If it cannot be made to stop pumping when the tank is full, it will overflow while driving. Fumes are not good. Other risks include leakage, sparks from random mechanical sources, not to mention fuel fumes around a bunch or funky trailer wiring in the rear bumper and in the trailer itself. I believe you should re-think this idea.

yeah i have kind nixed the while driveing aspect of it but still would like something better than a syphen for while im stopped, as far as over fill i would wait until near empty before re filling to avoid that but, regardless probly not gunna fill while driving (it was an interesting thought though)

My system was not intended for fuel transfer while driving. I just didn't want to have to deal with pulling out a hose and pouring into the regular fill neck. All I have to do is stop, shut down the rig, walk back to the trailer and power up the pump from there. When the main tank is full (watching the gauge) I turn off the pump and resume travel.

once again im glad someone has walked this path ahead of me, i have no problem trail blazing but its easier if theres a pre existing route. now as soon as i can get wifey to let me start spening money ill get this project in motion.
