Has anyone used an Autoxray to scan your 62?

I have a friend that has a scanner but he doesn't have the correct cable for my 88 FJ62.

What is the cable name that I would need? (OBD-I or what?)

Thanks,

I don't think OBD had started yet in 88 and is not on the 62's. You read the codes by shorting some pins and reading the flashing lights.

That is the part I don't understand.

I think I need to go back to carbs.

I called them two days ago. They had the body, chassis one for 57.97. The Engine one for 33.00

Before I get it I wanted to make sure it was the right one.

Seems to cheep to be the "FSM" that I need.

Until your FSM shows up, a 42 is the code for the Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal and the 51 is for the Switch Condition Signal which comes from a whole lot of different areas. The factory manuals are worth every penny. Don't forget to keep it in your rig, not on the shelf at home.

By the way to erase the codes and get the check light off, just pull the EFI fuse for 30 seconds or more

So 42 has to be when I am driving? And 51 will be the fun one!

Funny thing is the light is not on. I just looked to see if it had a code. I will reset them this evening.

It is running rough, I pulled all plugs wire when it was running (one at a time) and it didn't make any difference on #6.

I'm thinking plugged injector, I will look more into it this weekend.

I should do a compression test also.
